Editorial: To ask for too little
Likewise, the environmental and solidarity organisations can lower the ethical standard requirements towards the industry, to at least gain a "little". For example, requiring the absolute abortion of slave labour in their own production. But to require such a standard for the total chain of the goods produced, would be to ask too much. Slavery is too widespread for such a requirement.
Likewise, the right to establish free trade unions, does not harmonise with having operations in China. Therefore, this requirement is put aside on many occasions.
Likewise, one can make the world believe that the problems of poverty can be solved by putting a small tax on the international transactions of money. The good thing about asking for too little, is that one does not have to endeavour. A lazy, Sunday stroll can still bring you victory.
If we do not dare to tell the world what it will take to get the planet back on the track, then who does?
